Natural Disasters and Workplace Emergencies: Hurricanes

According to the National Ocean Service (2021), a hurricane is “a type of storm called a tropical cyclone, which forms over tropical or subtropical waters.” Hurricanes have the potential to cause local and widespread wind and flooding damage. Unlike other weather disasters, there is usually time to prepare for a hurricane. Advance preparation, attention to official updates, and being careful after the storm are all important for keeping safe during hurricane season.

The goal of this course is to provide the learner with safety considerations for use in hurricane-prone regions.
